[APD] Home depot spiral bulbs

How much were the bulbs? I am looking to make a DIY light with 2 of those
(or the double u-shaped ones I found at Walmart - 6500K and $4.99). I was
going to house them in a peice of plastic rain gutter cut to the length of
the tank. I saw this done on a DIY webpage, but unfortunately can't find
the page anymore so hopefully I remember enough about it.

I just converted a 20-gallon hood from single tube fluorescent to two
energy saver spiral fluorescent bulbs from Home Depot. I tried this
because Home Depot now sells spiral bulbs with three different spectra.
Quoting the packaging:

     * Warm light (the old, yellowish ones)
     * Cool white
     * Daylight

I'm of the opinion that the old, "warm light" spiral bulbs were nearly
useless for plants. I put two, 19W Daylight bulbs over the 20 gallon. It
looks pretty good!
