Platies (X. variatus), and mollies according to at least one person from this list, will do the trick. Several dozen platies cleaned up my 180 gallon in a very few hours. They will also eat many other types of algae. Nor does surface BGA do well with them in the tank, due to surface agitation; however, they do not eat the stuff. My plants are doing better now.

Regards,
