Jim,

If you are talking about the green threads that grow in clumps because they
put out branches.  I grew a great bunch just by collecting the pieces and
combining same.  My plan was riccia threaded by hair algae.  It didn't work.

It will grow quite an amazing loose ball of threads and forks.

I know it goes against the grain of most aquarists, but, is there any way to
grow Hair Alge where you want. I'd like to use it as a forground plant in a
small tank.  Any help would be appreciated....jim
