The Windows newsgroup forums are among the best I've used. 
No paid MS staff, jsut folks with problems and other folks
that are willing to help.

The general forums tend to get so much mail, that it's easy
to be left behind.  But there are lots of "specialty"
forums, too.

The forums server is msnews.microsoft.com

Try booting into safe mode to get your machine running --
you should then still be able to run your mail program to
access the forums -- hopefully.
