Re: [APD] Re: CO2 reactor help

If you make then with threaded adapters, you can open them
up somewhat. But opening them is really not necessary for
cleaning them. They shouldn't get any dirtier than a
wet/dry filter filled with bioballs. Once every few
months, or longer, you can remove the reactor, half-fill it
with water, place a finger over each inlet/outlet, shake
vigorously, then rinse out.

If you want to be really thorough, although I think it's
unnecessary, you can put in a bleach solution and let it
sit for about 15 minutes, then do the half fill and rinse
routine. If you use bleach, you'll want to rinse very
thoroughly or fill with a solution containing chlorine
"remover", then rinse again before reinstalling.

If biomaterial isn't blowing out the outlet, and the
reactor is working putting CO2 into the water, it probably
doesn't gain you anything to clean it.
