With that gh, you shouldn't need to add the magnesium sulfate unless the
gh is all calcium. With a gh of 13, you should have plenty of magnesium. You
can always call your water company to find out what the levels are. I would
leave it out, I'm sure you won't see a difference.

Hi Jeff,
Can I just leave out the epsom salts then?
Valerie
Will the addition of PMDD increase the GH in a planted tank? The GH of my
water as it comes from the tap is 13, however in my tank that is dosed with
PMDD it is 17. I was wondering if the fertilizer is increasing the GH. I
do regular water changes of 20% per week.

I write
It will if your putting magnesium sulfate in the mix as it calls for.
