RE: Spanish Moss

James,
I live in Tallahassee, Florida, and we have this stuff everywhere,
but we don't actually touch it. It is apparently home to a small, biting
mite that will give you red welts if it is handled. People use it for
decoration in some cases, but they must first microwave it for a while to
get rid of any infestation. I will say, that this 'fact' purely anecdotal
and I haven't actually looked it up.

Subject: Spanish Moss

To compliment my developing Bald Cypress swamp, I'd
like to get hold of some living Spanish Moss
(Tillandsia usneoides). Anyone in the southern USA
willing to go out and grab me a bunch? I would imagine
that with spring beginning now, it shouldn't be too
hard to find.

If anyone has access to this plant, please drop me an
email - jppurchase2003 at yahoo_com

Thanks
