Heyo,

I have multiple little plantlets growing on the leaves of my
Java Fern.
Some of the leaves are 2-3 inches long and have 1+ inch long
roots.  When is
it safe to remove these and how does one go about doing it?

2 - 3 inches is safe enough. You can gently prize the
plantlets off with your finger nail. The worst you can do is
rip a small hole in the mother sporophyll.
