ups power backup.....

if you are using the thing(ups power supply) as a backup why not put one of 
the cheapie on/off timers on it? if it ran 10 minutes every hour that would 
seem like plenty to me.  maybe you need more though.


Also, have any of you heard of the phosphorus fertilizer ban in some cities 
in minnesota?  maybe their lawn fertilizer will be close to suitable for a 
fishtank?
