Re: floral wire on cork



Daphne asked about the possible use of green floral wire to attach plants to
cork in an aquarium. Bill W. cautioned that most floral wire is just a
painted mild steel and will rust.

If it is just painted mild steel, it ought to be fine - it can rust all it
wants to. Rust, in the quantities that would be released by a few pieces of
wire, would be harmless and it is likely that the tannins released by the
cork would help make the iron available to the plants.
