I couldn't find the article, but there was some discussion that higher amounts of Calcium in a substrate will block nutrient uptake. Did that ever get confirmed/debunked? A lot of the tropical plants we use come from locations low in Calcium, but the soils we might use may be high in Calcium. Dunno. I use laterite/blasting grit. Laterite is very low in Calcium. TW
