Re: South American bottom feeders

Another good choice is the genus Peckoltia or clown
plecos. I just got one the other day and it is all
over the plants and wood. They stay small and they're
fun to watch. Their jerking type motions is a little
clown-like.

In my larger SA cichlid tank, I have some
Pterygoplichthys gibbiceps, or sail fin plecos, that
lurk in the shadows but will show up for a juicy
zucchini dinner. These, though, grow really big and
produce a lot of waste, I've read.

Peckoltia or Ancistrus are both excellent choices.
