There was quite a long discussion on the APD last year about scrapers and it came out that many people had damaged their glass using razor blades (including me). I now use either the humble algae pad or a "Pro Scraper" which sells for about $10 and has a hard plastic blade that does a really fantastic job. The Pro Scraper gets even the toughest crustose glass algae. Roxanne Bittman
