Naomi has a scratched 5.5 gallon tank.

Replacing the tank part of a 5.5 gallon set-up ought to be pretty
cheap, it's all the hardware and work that's costly.  Your're emptying
this scratched tank anyway, right?  So now maybe this is an
opportunity:  for the price of small tank, some fish and plants, you
get to setup another tank.  

But you have to like that sort of thing.  ;-)

PS, if it's only the front glass that's scratched, can you turn the
