Don is absolutely right. Had the same thing happen to me 3 or 4 times.
Now I just run the CO2 line into an Aquaclear 201 powerhead mounted
close to the bottom of my tank. Not the most efficienct reactor but
gives me a consistent 15-20 mg/l CO2 level based on PH/KH table.
