Re: pets

I've stated before in other forums regarding similarly inane messages from
the plaintiff...I have never bought anything from the plaintiff (though
according to them, I have, because that's how they got my email address in
order to spam me) and, due to messages like the ones posted here on
01March02, I never will. Will I advise others not to buy from them? Well, I
guess that's between me, those I advise, and anyone omnicient enough to
overhear such conversations/advice.

For what it's worth, I did not find the initial post in this thread (from
the plaintiff) to be offensive; rather, it was the replies to others posted
in response to that message that were patently offensive. What I personally
sense here is a trend to denigrate and intimidate anyone who might feel that
there is perhaps a certain validity to any complaints registered against a
retailer, online or otherwise. Guess what? certain organizations and
individuals have been complaining for years about certain retailers, and the
vast majority of those retailers would use those complaints as a resource to
ENHANCE their response to their customers and provide a better purchasing
experience. Seems pretty simple to me that the cheaper, and ultimately more
profitable, opportunity to satisfy some disgruntled customers would be
preferable to suing said customers and raising the ire of an entire
community comprised of those you would hope to serve.

Yes, the planted aquaria community is a small one. It is not a closed one,
however. Each person that is aware of this litigation fiasco certainly has
acquaintances outside of the planted tank community. Those people, being
Americans (the target defandants, for logistical/legal reasons), usually
have pets of some variety. People with pets buy things for them. When asked
for purchasing advice, whom do you think those that are aware of this
litigation are likely to recommend? I'm not implying that we would dissuade
people from using www.petswarehouse.com, but then again we might be more
inclined to mention others first...what we remember is service, not price.
If price were everything, we'd all be driving Hyundais right now. Instead,
we recommend that our friends get their cars from [insert manufacturer]
instead of that place that charges you $1k more but fixes problems as they
arise.

We've got far more animals in our household than we do humans. So do all of
my relatives and most of my friends. You do the math.
