It can take several days for the wood to get to the
point where it will stay submersed. Even then you
might have to attach it to some rock to keep it in
place. I would send it back if you are not planning to
use it in an aquscape that contains rock or don't want
to bury rock in the substrate. A dab of silicon also
helps when attaching it to the rock, but a good wood
screw through some rock will probably do. It should
not need a very big piece of rock though. I like to
have rocks around the base of my wood so it may add to
your aquascape somewhat to have some rock "sticking
up" from the area at teh base of the wood.
