I stay in Singapore where Blyxa Aubertii is a native plant here. I can't see how this plant can ever produce by side shoots. It's a solitary plant that sends out translucent pink narrow leaves from the centre under strong lighting. Perhaps its another kind of Blyxa sp. ,eg alternifolia, that probably propagate via side shoots. By the way, does ur Blyxa aubertii ever flower b4? Just curious.
