re: Caridinia japonica--escape artists? and breeding?
I have kept these guys for about a year in three different tanks. Two
females were found carrying eggs and I separated them to a five gallon
with Java moss. The eggs eventually hatched after at least two weeks,
(I didn't keep track). The larvae were almost invisible, none of them
survived.
I have never had any of them try to escape, they do a good job on hair
algae, and are a joy to watch. I wish I could get more but they
show up at my LFS rarely.
