And therein lies the problem when we talk about snails. Identification
(especially common names) is difficult and confusing.

The snail I was referring to is marisa cornuarietis.

They are about 1" diameter, brown, light brown, with parallel lines running
longitudinally down the shell.

You can see a picture of it here:

These snails will definitely eat your plants. Young, old they don't care.
They have a voracious appetite.
