I have both, and the difference I see is that willow moss is a darker color 
(a bit more brownish-reddish), at least for me.  The java moss stays greener 
and brighter, and I prefer it to the willow moss.  You could definitely use 
either one.  I have two pieces of driftwood wrapped in willow and java moss, 
and they do just fine.
