Hi Chrys,

While using a needle valve in a low pressure setup, I was getting 
water backflowing at least up to the needle valve. While waiting for 
my metal check valve to arrive, I tried a plastic check valve after 
the needle valve.  As people had mentioned several months ago, this 
made it much more difficult to control the bubble rate.  When my 
metal check valve arrived, I plumbed it as I had originally intended 
which is before the needle valve.  This works great.  I am using M3's 
Hexo-Manifold so this method allows 1 check valve to protect 6 needle 
valves.  By the way, their Hexo-Manifold valve is giving me more 
control than needed for my low pressure setup and you get 6 valves 
for $59!
