A high-light tank with a green water problem can sometimes be helped with a
split photo-period. On 5 hours, off 5 hours, on 5 hours, something like
that. The algae doesn't tolerate the mid-day dark period as well as the
plants. Try short on-periods at first, although I remember reading here that
a 4-5 hour photoperiod is the shortest that will do the plants any good. I
don't know why, my plants start pearling after 30 minutes.
