I've used razor blades in plastic holders to scrape algae off glass
tanks for a few decades.  I've never scratched the glass.

No matter what kind of scraper you use, don't get sand or gravel caught
between the blade and the glass.  Common minerals in sand and gravel
definitely will (if you press hard enough) scratch glass.
