Flowering Ozelot...

My ozelot sword is sending up a flower stalk.  I have a covered tank, but
every time I open up to feed the fish (some are jumpers), this stalk seems
to want to climb right out of the tank and into the light fixture.

It's a very beautiful healthy sword, and I'd love to see it actually flower.
What should I do to encourage it?  I could add a fertilizer spike to the
gravel, and I suppose I could leave the tank open at that end, but I'm not
sure it wouldn't burn in the lights (fluorescent).
