Daphne,

Are you aware of the "Meridian Automatic Aquarium Water Changer" that is
available from many sources?  It can be used with a hose sprinkler timer
and changes 5 gallons per hour.  If you set it for one hour per day, you
can't very well have Murphy visit you for an overflow :>) 

I've been using one for years and it is wonderful -- yes, inexpensive at
places like "That Fish Place", "The Aquarium Center" and other mail
order houses.
