Filter and CO2 Question

Two questions for the list:

1. I have a new 75 gallon tank (4' long) and I am
trying to right-size a filter to it.  I am considering
one of the Eheim 2026 ProII filters.  Is this a good
choice for that size of HEAVILY planted tank?

2. Is the special CO2 tubing that various online
retailers sell worth it?  Would silicone do the job?
