THis summer two dogs died several days apart after drinking from an infested
backwash of the the otherwise pristine Payette River in central Idaho. This
is a popular whitewater raft and kayak area, so it is very swift except for
the little side pools. It took a few days for the authorities to nail it
down, but cyanobacteria poisoning was the final diagnosis.
