I've dealt with a bunch of list lurkers, and have had no problem. Maybe this is
an unavoidable problem. I don't know the specifics, or the individual involved, so
I can't say. I've traded plants with several dozen APD and Usenet people, many of
them I didn't know at all before they contacted me via email. I've had no real
problems, just cases of unavoidable delays.

But I've been on the other side too. Someone on the list sent me some plants,
and I was to send payment on receipt of the plants. By the time the plants
arrived, my financial situation was different (I'm self-employed, and at the
mercy of my customers and their accounting departments). I finally did get
payment sent, but it was at least a month later. I did try however to keep
the seller informed via email.
