Re: Amano night-time aeration
Someone recently asked why Amano suggested aerating the aquarium overnight.
PLEASE NOTE, he means aerating with a simple air pump and NOT aerating with
pure O2!
ADA sells specific products for this purpose such as an air pump, air
cleaner (purifier) and diffuser. Although I never discuss this with them, I
think this is recommended for heavily planted (and fast growing) aquariums
with a high fish load that may suffer from a drop in the O2 levels overnight
(when respiration is the key process).
