Re: Aquatic Plants Digest V4 #512

This is the first time I have ever posted, so hopefully I'm doing this right.
I am an avid reef and fresh water aquarist. I have heard many discussions
about this subject and I'd like to add my two cents. The reef aquarium
industry does not significantly impact the world's reefs. Think about all
the pollutants dumped into the oceans everyday, surely it is much more
harmful to dump thousands of gallons of raw sewage into the ocean, than
taking a few fish. Think of the massive fishing outfits that scour the ocean
daily. Another problem is global warming, this is caused by every one of us
everyday when we start our cars, use electricity, the list goes on and on.
Maybe we should outlaw the use of gas operated cars. I'm sorry if this post
is off the topic, but it is something that I feel strongly about, the
aquarists are not the problem.
