Gitte's hygro polysperma substitute
Gitte,
I have kept Mex. Oakleaf in my 55 for about 6 months now and it has a very
similiar effect to H.poly (disappointingly similiar in fact;-)
It does get root hairs, but not as bad as what you describe, nor as bad as
my memory serves me concerning H.poly. I've got the sunset variety in this
tank as well and it also gets pretty hairy at times
