I can't tell from your picture. I looked at the one in James' book. If it
is Ammania, then it is DEFINITELY a picture of the emersed form. Once it
acclimates to underwater conditions, it becomes a completely different
plant. You can get an idea of submersed Ammania senegalensis by the red
plants in this several year old pic from one of my tanks:
