Keep up the water changes, add an air stone for O2 for the fish, and
keep running the diatom filter. Lastly, use either a check valve or put
the output of the CO2 generator into a second 2 liter bottle containing
some water, such that the output tube of the generator goes into the
water in the second bottle. Next, have a tube going from the second
tube to the tank. This way the second bottle will act as a trap if your
problem should happen again.
