Thanks to all who took the time to reply - I think the general consensus is that it's a bad idea, which is a pity as they are on offer at my local gardening superstore... I really don't want to risk it! I think I'll stop trying to find excuses and build the wooden tank I initially planned on. Thanks again. Jim Cheesman
