java fern question



I noticed that some of my taller java ferns look a little different lately.  If
typical  java ferns look something like the left drawing., my java ferns look
more like the right drawing (sorry about the poor sketch).

It is in the center of the picture.  Has anyone seen this before or know why
this happens?  I use PMDD with CO2.
