This is just distilling the water.  The water you get should be quite pure,
but to get any sizable ammount of water, you'll need a lot of evaporating
time, and a farm of these contraptions.  I don't think that this is a viable
solution, only becuase you wouldn't get enough water.  I've been know to be
wrong before though....
