Trimming Riccia

Has anyone on this list found a quick and easy, at least easier, method of 
trimming riccia. The trimming part usually only takes about 15 minutes but 
getting the riccia out of the water is a pain. I use a net but it's still 
pretty painful. TIA.

PS I'm looking for a Nutramatic small hopper so if anyone has upgraded to the 
large one and has the little one sitting around please email me and I'll make
